The Center performs the following forms of community outreach.
Center distributes groceries to families in need during the pandemic. Families are identified through a trusted network of partner organizations and volunteers in the community. The families choose the items they need from our flyer which includes fresh produce and dairy. Volunteers at the Center receive calls during the week, procure and pack the customized grocery items ready for a drive-thru contactless pick-up or deliver to their homes if they lack transportation, the following Saturday.
Volunteer members from the Center prepare hot meals and serve at Elijah’s Promise Soup Kitchen in New Brunswick every 3rd Saturday of the month.
Every Saturday, volutneers prepare lunch bags for distribution to the needy in nearby communities.
Every month the center organizes a collection drive and donates the non-perishable food supplies to the local food pantries.
Once a month from the beginning of spring to end of Fall, volunteers clean up the local roads by picking up trash as part of the "clean communities program".
In the winter, warm clothing is collected and distributed to the homeless.
Volunteers assemble and distribute hygiene kits to local shelters.
Volunteers provide help in various ways such as cash contribution for the disaster relief, cleanup and restoration, conducting special drives and sponsoring reconstruction whenever natural disasters occur anywhere in the world.
Volunteers assemble every second Saturday of the month to knit colorful beanies, blankets, and sweaters for for infants of low income and needy families.
Once a year, children from various nearby districts assemble to offer a day of service through projects such as making encouraging cards for the sick, knitting blankets, shoe collections, cellphone drives, lens frame drives etc.
Our volunteers at Sarva Dharma Service Center with an artistic talent offer art classes for children under the age of 13 every week. The collage of art shown in the picture above are actual paintings done by these children. The activity has attracted both adults and children to have fun together in these sessions.
